1, Barricane House, Mortehoe
Barricane House, formerly Barricane Inn, was built by my great, great grandfather Samuel Conibear in 1860.
Much of the wood was sourced from local shipwrecks, as was common practice in those times.
.

Morte Bay, often wrongly called Woolacombe Bay, with its 3 miles of sands is a favourite with children, surfers and walkers, is only a 10 minute walk down the hill from Mortehoe. Possibly a little longer on the way back!!!
